Welcome to Build the Enterprise!

There are two ways to explore our program.

We suggest this path:  follow our arguments and thinking that are defined here and in the next few linked pages.  Take a concrete look at the foundations of this program, by starting at the epistemological basis for it.  Why it exists.  Why we think it is so necessary and important.

The other way will make mum and dad happy:  you can look at a representation of our
program at Southern Vermont College’s official web site.  (Zzzzz.)  (Oophs.  We’re not supposed to say that.)  The SVC description of BTE starts here.  Either way, you’ll be able to make an informed choice about BTE.

SO WHAT IS BTE?
Our Build the Enterprise (“BTE”) program is a 4-year, Bachelor’s of Science in Entrepreneurship & Management.  There isn’t anything quite like it.  Anywhere.  It is something very special and very, very good.  Here is why.

THE EPISTEMOLOGICAL PART
(Psst.)  (Just in case, click here for the Wikipedia defintion of you know what.)
THE EPISTEMOLOGY - PART 1
We started out with the (not so) radical idea that what has been taught, and what is being taught, in Management, in Business Administration, in Entrepreneurship, is not so much wrong as it is way out of date.  You know, your grandfather’s Business degree.

To clarify, there are two ways to think about the current economic crisis, from the failures of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to the demise of Lehman Brothers to multiple bank closures, such as IndyMac Bank and Washington Mutual, to the collapse of AIG to the semi-nationalisation of banks by the central banks in the U.S. and U.K. to the nation of Iceland pushed to the brink of
collapse to the loss of 240,000 jobs in just one month (October, 2008) to real estate and earlier technology bubbles.

Pleas notice that each each of the preceding references is a hyperlink to a related, descriptive article:  an opportunity to learn more here.  That's what we are all about.  You learning more.
